Healthbridge has announced the integration of RecoMed’s online patient appointment booking platform with myMPS – Healthbridge’s cloud-based clinical and billing practice management solution. The integration is in line with Healthbridge’s innovation strategy to partner with other leading health-tech companies, to offer medical professionals a holistic solution across their patient, business and revenue management needs.
RecoMed, a mobile-friendly platform and online health marketplace that allows patients to find and book appointments with healthcare providers online and at no cost, was identified as an ideal complementary partner because of their expertise in understanding the digital patient journey. The integration, which is already available to over 1,000 medical professionals using myMPS as an add-on module, will enable these medical professionals to further optimise their electronic calendars and enhance their patient experience and grow their revenue.
“There is a strong synergy between Healthbridge and RecoMed’s aim to optimise communication between patients and medical professionals,” said Executive – Marketing and Product Success at Healthbridge, Ivone Veiga-Moroldo. “Currently, myMPS allows practice staff to book appointments in an online calendar; the addition of the RecoMed service gives patients the opportunity to book appointments that are then integrated back into this calendar. The combined offering facilitates an efficient paperless, real-time booking process that saves time for both the patient and the practice staff.”
Veiga-Moroldo went on to outline the business management and revenue optimisation benefits for medical professionals and their practices. When patients book appointments through the bolstered solution, the system sends an immediate benefit check to the medical aid to confirm whether the patient has funds. “This is an important benefit because Healthbridge’s data shows us that if a patient is made aware of insufficient funds or a co-payment before seeing their doctor, it increases the likelihood of settling outstanding balances exponentially – either before leaving the practice or shortly thereafter,” said Veiga-Moroldo.
“In addition to improving open and clear communication with the patient; practices will also have valuable data at their fingertips to optimise their practice management. From the data generated by the platform, medical professionals and admin staff can see the trends in how busy their practices are on what days and times. This enables them to use myMPS to schedule follow up appointments or routine check-ups on days that are quieter, potentially reducing waiting times for the patient and managing workload for the medical professional,” added Veiga-Moroldo.
On commenting on the integration of RecoMed’s online booking platform with Healthbridge’s offering, RecoMed Founder Sheraan Amod said: “We are delighted to extend our platform’s reach in collaboration with Healthbridge to bring mutual benefit to the patient and healthcare practitioner. In addition to giving patients the freedom to make appointments when it suits them, the combined solution supports better time management, resource allocation, capacity management and billing for the doctor and their business.”
